Help Baby and Children Sleep During the Holidays
As the holidays are approaching, many parents have mixed emotions. They cannot wait to see their relatives and enjoy the holiday; however, the thought of taking the little one traveling is another thing. We all know that many children have a hard time adjusting to new environments especially at bedtime. Many times, while visiting relatives, the little children do not want to go to bed let alone go to sleep in a new environment.

Does anyone think its a bad idea to get another lab before my baby comes?
I already have a one year old lab and he is the best but since i found out i was pregnant he has been attached to my hip and my breeder offered me another dog. They said it will help keep my other dog more occupied and not bored while im taking care of my child. i would get the dog before xmas and my baby is due in july. Opinions please!!!!!
:You should get another breeder because she doesn't seem to know much about animal behavior. Your dog is acting jealous and yes it will be a problem when your baby arrives. Dogs are used to living in a hierarchy and when the baby arrives that dog will be displaced by the baby. You have a smart dog and it knows what's about to happen. The answer is most definetly not to throw another unknown into the mix. Besides the extra work a second dog brings, you do not know how your dog is going to react to another dog and when your baby arrives your going to have 2 problems not one.
What you need to do is talk to a trainer and behaviorist, not somebody trying to sell you another dog (and at X-mas no less, no legitimate breeder will sell a dog during the holiday season). They can suggest situation exercises that will prepare your dog for the arrival of the baby that will create a lot less stress in your life. The preparation (with one dog) should begin now if you want to avoid problems.
